This is a guide to the progressive process line that is followed in architectural model making. With this, one can learn the various stages of building a real 3D physical scale model by our team of experts.
- Editing and designing the project drawings
The initial step is to determine the model scale and extent based on the drawings and other details of the project. We also require detailed information on proposed colors, materials, finishes and design intent for the precise outcome of the project.
- Laser cutting the building components
The Acrylic / Perspex sheets are then transformed into the building components using the laser engraving /cutting techniques. Edited files in AutoCAD format are fed to the laser machine to plot.

Next, the structure of the scale model is constructed from the laser cut / engraved components.
- Masking and Painting
Then the model structure is masked to give a perfect finish by automotive quality spray painting. This ensures the finish fidelity and representation of design intent.
- Model Base Setting
On the model base the road layout, pavements and road markings are made.
- Acrylic Cover Construction
Considering the vulnerability of the scale model, often an acrylic cover is placed on the model to protect the model from dust and tampering.
- Hard and Soft Landscaping
At the finishing stage, hard and soft landscaping elements such as vegetation including trees, shrubs, grass, soil, etc. and fixing miniature cars, street lights, water elements, and human figures embellish the model.
- Building Assembly and Lighting
Finally, the building structure is assembled on the model base with lights to enhance the model view.
- Final Touches
Our model makers add final touches to the scale model to build an appealing architectural model with high details to captures the essence of the designer’s vision without compromising on real-life visual effects.
